P&C has the best prices on Captain Black and the Royal is my favorite of the CB line of tobaccos.

One of the best Aromatics you'll find. Tastes as good as it smells, reminds me of old fashioned spiced fruit,(more sweet than spice) Delicious! Burns easy, Smokes smooth but can get warm. I enjoy the gentle refreshing lift I notice with all of the Captain Black Varieties! Always Satisfying!

Captain Black... what can be said? I always have a pouch of the Royal in my stash. Although I like aromatics, I do not smoke them often with exception of Captain Black Royal. I like to pair it with some Vengeur full flavor cigarette rolling tobacco... absolutely love it then. On its own the tobacco smokes well and tastes wonderful, but does give a bit of burn and bite is common if you are an aggressive puffer like myself... this is true for most aromatics. I will say that when I blend this tobacco, it looses its bite, the burn is not as present and I can introduce the nicotine that would not be present otherwise. The Royal is a good smoke and one of the few aromatics that I will smoke right from the pouch. 4 stars!

I remember an uncle of mine smoking this blend when I was younger. Fast forward 25 years, I bought some. While it burned cool (as long as you don't puff like a madman), there were many downsides.
- CB Royal is a well-known aromatic, it seems to me the recipe might have changed through the years. The flavor and aroma seemed lighter, replacing body with an unpleasant synthetic smell both in the room and pouch.
I was sad to see that it wasn't what I remembered. I won't be buying this again.

My husband had been looking for this locally and it was no where. I found it online and bought it. He was so surprised and happy. This is a rare blend in Ohio.

If your going to puff Captain Black this is the one to get. A good all around smoke with great flavour. Pace yourself and it wont bite you. I have moved onto to higher end tobaccos and I still find myself wanting to buy a pouch of Royal.

this is a perfect go to smoke,, i keep this on hand because it always satisfies. i get a hint of a dark roast flavor which keeps me coming back! try it and you'll see why this stuff is so popular!

I am rather new to the pipe smoking community and have smoked a few different brands and flavors this by far has to be one of the best I have tried cant beat the price and the simplicity it pairs great with a cup of tea or what I imagine would pair great with a good scotch I will be sure to try that once back in the states.
