Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Alternative (by the ounce)
This is a match to the old "Edgeworth Ready Rubbed". A semi aromatic burley blend with hints of cocoa and molasses.

I couldn't testify to the closeness of match, but this is an excellent blend irrespective. I can smoke this literally all day - and have a few times.
I love the cut of this tobacco, and even a beginner would have no problem packing a hearty bowl. I've gone through a few bowls with no relights at all. No need to dry this as it comes. I've got only good things to say about this blend.
I place the nicotine content at mild-medium, and the taste is something like grains or oats, but a bit sweeter. I will definitely keep this in my usual rotation.

This is another one of my "comfort smokes". An old-fashioned burley blend that's especially great when fishing or just puttering around. Not complex, but it's easy in the pipe and on the palate.

This used to be manufactured here in downtown Richmond many years ago.
It is a very close match with the cut and flavor of the original as I remembered it. Does not have the kick of nicotine, but highly recommended.

I'm not familiar with Edgeworth so the only thing I can say about how well this mixture matches is: if Edgeworth was dry, burned hot, and had little to no flavor, then this was a great match.
I've received a few mixtures from P&C which were extremely dry which makes me wonder about quality control. This was one of those so my initial assessment is based on the tobacco as I received it. Maybe a bit of time in a humidor will affect it, but I still think it's a relatively flavorless smoke. Traditionalists may prefer that but I don't think this one's for me.

It's been quite a while since I have smoked ERR, but I believe this is pretty close to the original. Packs fine and smokes even and cool. Will order again.

I smoked Edgeworth many years ago as my steady smoke. The "Edgeworth" I got from Pipes and Cigars was not the same. The cut was good, the color and taste not even close. The tobacco was bone dry upon arrival. An experiment I won't try again!

I believe I have become a Latakia addict. That being said I love this tobacco as a change of pace. The cut smokes cool, but the way I pack it, it has a tendency to pack tight. I don't know if it is a good match to the Edgeworth having never smoked it. I do like it quite a bit thogh and it is a regular for me now.

My dad smoked a pipe when I was little (40 years ago) and I wanted a way for my mom to remember him. He died 5 years ago. I think the tobacco is a good match. I made it into a candle w/wax and a wick.

A very close match with what I remember of the old Edgeworth. Arrived a little dry, even in the vacuum packs, but that was easily remedied with a humidor. I had previously despaired of finding anything even close to the old familiar flavor. Hope you continue to make it available.

It's been a while since I smoked the original Edgeworth so take this with a grain of salt. The Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match seems like a close match. The cut is definitely on the mark which gives it the cools slow burn which attracted me to Edgeworth in the first place. It seems to me the "match" is cured a little darker, has a bit more of a "whang" and a bit less of the "nutty" taste. All that taken into account I'm enjoying it, my wife is tolerating it (neither of us likes a strong aromatic) and I will very likely re-order, which is the acid test.
