Safferling Pipes
Born in Heidelberg, Germany in 1951, Bertram Safferling studied design and engineering at the National Academy of Cultural Arts in Stuttgart. Bertram has been an independent designer since 1981, with an emphasis on pipe design. Well known in Europe, he has had two pipes displayed at the Munich Museum of Contemporary Design.
All Safferling pipes are handmade by Bertram who uses the highest grade briar. He then pairs stems which are hand-cut from top quality rod stock. Bertram produces pipes in conventional shapes as well as sculpting plateau blocks into easily identifiable "Safferling" designs.
These pipes provide both an exceptional smoke and an outstanding value for handmade pipes. Bertram Safferling’s work is well representative of the state of the pipe making art in Germany today.Safferling Pipes
