These soak up the moisture without interfering with the draw. They work well and I have not noticed any distortion of the flavor of the tobacco.

I never was a fan of filtered pipes until I recently purchased a Savinelli pipe using this filter system. These filters do give a cooler and drier smoke without affecting the draw or taste.

I have a Sav 315 Prince, as well as an Aldo Velani Dublin, and use the 6mm balsa filters in both. Filters the moisture, tar and associated particulate, without diminishing the flavor of good tobacco. Wouldn't be without them.

Savinelli filters definitely provide a cleaner and drier smoke. I just love em. What else can I say, but try em.

I HATE pipe filters. I prefer a wide open draw and most filters ruin the draw, especially the paper ones. HOWEVER.....Savinelli's Balsa filters pull moisture out of the smoke and don't ruin the draw. Nothing replaces a wide open pipe, but if you are going to use a filter, this is the one.
