I am more than very pleased with this product. It is a absolute for pipe smokers.

Works great for lighting pipes but it is not windproof.

Great product, works as described, although not wind proof . Make sure to buy some Vector butane/flints too. Does not take any other brand .

works well, exactly as it is supposed to. Mine arrived fueled already, which was a bit of a surprise, but not a bad one.

This actually works well. Kind of a tight fit and had some trouble getting it out the first 3-4 times to refill, but it's better now. I have always liked my Zippo and could deal with the 'lighter fluid' taste but didn't care for it. This product gives me a nice flame, works like my Zippo and the flame is adjustable.

I've only been using it a few weeks, so far no problems. With Vector's no proof warranty you can send it in if you do have problems so no worries.

Awesome idea! I got so tired of refilling my standard wick Zippo just to have it evaporated by the next time I needed it. I order one of these for myself and one for a good friend of mine. We both think it's great. We've been using them for two weeks now with no problems. And as the description says "Soft Flame exits lighter at angle perfect angle for pipes" is 100% true. This is the easiest and most comfortable way I've found to light my pipes. Two other pipe smokers I know tried mine and now they want them too.

was great for about 2 weeks then pin for on off switch come out got it back in worked great for 4 days then it just quit working get sparks so flint is good must be a bad butane valve

After hearing many good things about these units on pipe forums, I bought one to replace the mechanism in my Zippo. I hardly used the lighter before because I only average about a pipe a day, which meant that I might get seven lights out of the thing before it needed to be refilled, and the design of the chimney seemed to char wicks rather quickly, weakening the flame.

The Thunderbird holds a flame well in all but the strongest of wind (which to me is a plus, as there's less risk of charring the rim of your pipe), the fuel is always there when I need it, and the flint ignition is far more durable and reliable than the piezo system found on many butane lighters. A highly recommended upgrade to your old faithful lighter.
