The brand became very popular, due in part to La Palina sponsoring radio shows being produced by another brainchild of the Paley family - CBS. When 'Mr. Sam,' as his employees call him, retired in 1926, that was the end of La Palina, until the brand was revived by another member of the Paley family, Sam's grandson - Bill Paley.
