Caldwell Collection - Eastern Standard
Caldwell Collection - Eastern Standard is different in a number of ways, but probably the most interesting part is the unique wrapper.
These medium-bodied cigars use a combination of Dominican Corojo and Criollo with Nicaraguan Habano long-fillers, all held in place by a Dominican Habano binder. But where Eastern Standard really shakes things up is with the wrapper. This Ecuadorian-grown capa is a hybrid of Connecticut Shade and Brazilian Mata Fina, resulting in a golden-brown wrapper, darker than a typican Connecticut Shade. In fact, they've dubbed it "Dark Connecticut".
The flavor profile is highly unusual, as well. There's a burst of pepper at first light which diminishes as a combination of lemony citrus and cream take over. As the citrus note fades, a sweet cedar takes its place. The finish is clean and fresh, and you'll want to count the minutes until it's time to light up another.
