Caldwell Collection - Long Live the King is another example of Robert Caldwell's approach - to find rare and different tobaccos and to combine them to create something singular.
The first thing that struck me in researching this cigar is that 90% of the long-fillers are ligero, That doesn't mean that this is an overly powerful cigar, though, falling in the medium to full-bodied range. Capping itoff is a gorgeous Dominican Corojo 2008 capa with a golden-reddish hue. You'll notice notes of leather and cedar leading the way, with earthy tobacco, mellow sweetness and a hint of white pepper bringing up the rear. If you're looking for a robust cigar that's not overpowering,, well, Long Live the King!
