Charter Oak
Nick Melillo, founder of Foundation Cigar Co. created his company around his strong love for home. Growing up in Connecticut, he gained knowledge of the tobaccos grown in the River Valley. The latest blend, Melillo wanted to create a blend that payed respect to his roots with not only the tobaccos used, but also the name.
Charter Oak, which not only honors his home but also his grandfather, a WWII veteran who enjoyed cigars made with the Connecticut Broadleaf Tobacco. Made with a Connecticut Shade wrapper, and fillers from the Esteli and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua, creating a nutty and creamy flavors that gives the taste of history through the cigar. All while adding in notes of chocolate, roasted nut, and pepper to enhance the experience and appreciation for the Connecticut broadleaf.
