Drew Estate Undercrown Connecticut Shade
The concept behind Drew Estate's Undercrown cigars grew out of the fact that employee were smoking too many of their Liga Privadas. They challenged their rollers to come up with a more affordable blend that still satified them, and Undercrown was born. It became such a success that Willy Herrera threw down the gauntlet a second time, asking them to make a version with a Connecticut Shade wrapper for folks who prefer a lighter, creamier smoke, and so we present Drew Estate's Undercrown Connecticut Shade.
The wrapper is a tawny-colored capa from Ecuador, known for producing a more flavorful version of Connecticut Shade. The binder is Sumatra, for a bit more body, and the long-fillers are Criollo '98 from the Dominican Republic and Corojo and Criollo from Nicaragua. Undercrown Connecticut Shade is smooth and creamy with notes of nuts, toast, leather and oak, backed up by a mellow spiciness. If you like cigars that are lighter, without being boring, this is one you just have to try.
