Gurkha Legend Vintage 2001
Gurkha has been known for some fantastic cigars, but maybe the mosr beloved was the Gurkha Legend. This was a cigar with extensively-aged leaf, which, unfortunately, ran out in 2008. Many fans of the 90-rated cigar lamented its demise. Utilizing a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper that was grown in 2001, Gurkha proudly presents the Gurkha Legend Vintage 2001.
The first thing you see is that oily, dark Broadleaf capa, which has been triple fermented before being laid down for aging. Underneath this rare leaf are tobaccos from the Cibao Valley in the Dominican Republic. After rolling, the cigars are cedar aged for extra smoothness. These medium-bodied gems deliver notes of dark roast coffee and cocoa, with hints of leather, cream and pepper. Complexity of this degree in the medium-bodied range is rare.
A special addition to an already special lineup is the 2001 Aniversario - a beautiful Double Perfecto that's eye-catching as well as flavorful.
