A bold departure for Montecristo - Montecristo Espada
Montecristo, looking to expand their lines with new and unique blends came up with the idea of having their team of master blenders work with Nestor Plasencia to creat a new Monte using all Nicaraguan tobaccos. The result is an exceptionally rich cigar, bursting with flavor, while still maintaining the complexity and elegance that are hallmarks of Montecristo.
Plasencia made his entire cache of well-aged Nicaraguan tobaccos available for this project, and the "Grupo de Maestros" selected a beautiful nut-brown Nicaraguan Habano wrapper from Jalapa, vintage 2010. Underneath is a rich blend of leaf from Condega, Jalapa and Ometepe that creates a singular flavor.
There's an overall woody character with notes of roasted nuts, coffee, cream, pepper and a sweet finish. Montecristo Espada is everything you'd expect from a fuller-bodied Monte - rich, refined and complex.
