It all starts with a dark, shimmering Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, which hides a Nicaraguan binder and a three-country blend of long-fillers from Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. The flavor profile features a rich cocoa note, along with earth, roasted nuts, leather, and a burst of black pepper. I burned enough of these 20 years ago that I became a little nostalgic when they returned, and Rocky Patel ITC Super Fuerte Maduro is as good as ever.
